Detailed Review

I bought this initially for 2 reasons: 1) I wanted to get some BCAAs and these were on sale (buy 2 get 1 free sale still going on as of 11/6/18) and 2) I like products from EVLUTION Nutrition. BCAAs have had a lot of research behind them, and generally they come out as something that can be helpful for athletically inclined people for numerous factors including helping with recovery and helping to build more muscle mass. I personally like to add them to my water bottle to drink during my workouts and throughout the day to help combat my Diet Pepsi addiction.

Anyway – here is my review:

Mixability
They recommend one scoop with 8-10 oz of water, I haven’t tried it with such a small amount of water, I throw one scoop into my 32oz water bottle and it dissolves quickly with about 30 seconds of shaking. Unlike other BCAA products this one mixes up nicely and there aren’t any Leucine flakes floating on the surface. It also does a nice job of staying in suspension after being mixed up – others that I have tried settle out very quickly and constantly have to be shaken up before taking another sip.

Flavor
I really like Blue Raspberry flavor… so for me the Blue Raz is a definite winner. As I mentioned I mix it in about 32oz of water for one scoop of powder – at that level of dilution it is just about perfect for me. It might be overly sweet if mixed with the suggested 8-10oz – but you’d also probably just be chugging it at that point so it might not matter. Anyway – I like it a lot.

Effectiveness
Effectiveness is hard to truly gauge on something like this without blood tests and a double blind placebo controlled study… but for the purposes of this review I’m gauging it on whether or not it has the ingredients I am looking for and if it tastes good enough that I’d actually use it. This I meets both of those criteria. It is a 2:1:1 ratio, not as high as some others, but I’m ok with that.

Value
Right now on bodybuilding.com the regular price is $0.80 per serving, but it is on sale with a buy 2 get 1 free for the larger size, and 2 for $18 for the 30 serving container which makes it closer to $0.40 per serving. Great deal.

Final Conclusion

I’m really happy with my decision to pick this stuff up. It tastes great and it is really affordable. If you’re looking for a BCAA powder, this one is a good call!
